Our Story
Creative Communities Ilfracombe is a community interest company and social enterprise. It was set up by Molly Neville in 2021 as a response to the pandemic. Like many others, Molly found it challenging to cope during the pandemic and lockdowns. She attended online crafting sessions run by Devon Recovery Learning which really helped her manage her anxiety and feel less lonely. This inspired her to look for ways of bringing creativity and crafting to her local community, to share the benefits and fun of crafting and creativity for wellbeing.
Creative Communities Ilfracombe has been developed for the community and aims to provide opportunities for individuals and groups to get crafting and to make connections.
Creative Communities Ilfracombe's primary goal is boosting wellbeing and combatting isolation and loneliness.
As a social enterprise, we aim to generate trading income and do fundraising which will be used to cover venue hire and associated costs.
